Ranchly ‘Feeling Fancy’ BBQ Sauce


Up your BBQ game with this barbecue sauce that brings just the right amount of heat.


1/2 lb tomatoes

1 medium onion

6 large garlic cloves

1/4 cup canola oil

1 cup ketchup

1 cup apple cider vinegar

1/4 cup light brown sugar

2 tbsp unsulfured molasses

1 ½ tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp chili powder

1 tbsp paprika

½ tsp cayenne pepper




Preheat the oven to 350°. Toss tomatoes, sliced onions, and garlic in oil and don't forget to season with salt and pepper! Roast in the oven for about 40 minutes until they are fork tender. Combine roasted tomatoes, onions, and garlic with the remaining ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat, simmering over low heat for about 30 minutes. The sauce will thicken, as it reduces, while the flavors blend together and intensify. Puree ingredients, adding water until the sauce reaches the desired consistency. Salt and pepper to taste.
