FAQ
How does Ranchly work?
No subscription required, no deep freezer needed. It’s simple - you order from our website and we deliver. Buy the exact cuts and quantities you want online. Then we ship from our ranch to your door. Our beef is USDA inspected, and we use a trusted family-run butcher shop.
Is there a minimum order?
Glad you asked! Yes, we only accept orders over $50 at this time. If your order does not meet our minimum purchase you will automatically be refunded.
How much beef do I get in a chef selection?
Our Chef Selections are about 4 to 7 lbs and designed to fit into your available freezer space. You can also build your own selection of cuts or add on cuts as a la carte items (within a $50 minimum order).
Is my credit card secure?
Yes. We use Stripe for payment processing, which is a secure 256-bit encrypted payment gateway. They store your credit card information and are fully PCI-compliant.
Where do you deliver?
At this time, we only deliver to places where we can get our product within 48 hours. If you are outside of our delivery area, we will send you an email and refund your purchase.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is $10 per order - no matter how large the purchase!
How will my beef be shipped?
Our beef is flash frozen, and vacuum sealed in airtight packages to preserve freshness. It is packed with dry ice and shipped straight to you via Fedex. Once your order ships, you'll receive a shipping confirmation notice with tracking information.
Do I need to be around the day my shipment arrives?
No, you will not need to be home to sign for your package. Because each shipment is packed with dry ice, it will stay frozen for a few hours after it arrives. When you come home, put your beef in your freezer right away or defrost it in the refrigerator. Beef should be kept below 40°F until you are ready to cook. For more information on safe handling, visit the USDA website here.
How do I handle the dry ice?
Our beef is packaged and shipped with dry ice. Dry ice temperature is extremely cold at -109.3°F or -78.5°C. By the time you receive your shipment it is likely that all of the dry ice will have sublimated, but if there is still some dry ice left it should be handled with care. Wear protective cloth or leather gloves whenever touching it. Leftover dry ice can be left in the packaging in a well-ventilated area, where children and pets cannot reach it. Any remaining dry ice should be gone within 24 hours.
What is the fat content of the ground beef?
Our House Blend Ground Beef is about 80/20 and is made from our dry-aged steaks.
Why do you dry-age the beef?
Dry-aged beef tastes better and is more tender. We dry-age all our beef for a least 14 days.
What do you mean by pasture-raised?
Our cows live naturally grazing on our pastures in Heath, Ohio. During the winter, we supplement their diet with hay grown on the ranch. We are working to become grass-fed certified.
Are your cows raised humanely?
Yes! We take immense pride in how our animals are treated. Our cows live stress-free, natural lives on our lush, stream-fed pastures. We are currently working to become humane certified.
Do you use antibiotics or hormones?
No. We never use unnecessary antibiotics, hormones, or steroids. If a cow needs antibiotics because it is sick, we will administer antibiotics to the animal for its comfort, and then separate it from the rest of the herd, as it will not be used for beef.
