Preheat grill to 400°F. Scrub the grill clean with a grill brush and then apply oil to grill grates.
Pat steaks dry and season with salt and pepper. Then brush steaks with oil (use oil with a high smoke point).
Place steaks on the grill and cover. Cook thin steaks for 3 to 4 minutes and thick steaks for about 4 to 5 minutes.
Remove grill cover and flip the steaks. Cook for the same amount of time on the other side.
Remove the steaks and let them rest for 5 minutes.
